  • As with most things in college admissions, the answer is: “it depends.” A lot of information is out there about the admissions process, and a dedicated adult could spend hours doing the research and reading books to competently guide their student through the process.

But for many, hiring an expert is worth the investment. You benefit from not only my industry knowledge, but also my experience working with students over the years. I take pressure off the student-parent relationship by taking the lead on accountability and acting as a liaison between the student and parent for college-related conversations. I also alleviate student anxiety by validating or critiquing the work they’re doing.

  • No! College admissions and academic mentorship are national practices. I can work with clients from anywhere in the US, or even abroad, if they’re looking to apply to colleges in the United States or improve their academics in English. With out-of-state or international clients, I can only work via Zoom and e-mail.

  • Currently, I can work with students grades 7–12.

  • I primarily provide narrative building and college admissions services. This ranges from full-service consultation throughout high school to build a student’s academic profile all the way to admissions essay support through the fall of Senior year. For the application itself, I specialize in helping students craft memorable essays. But I can also provide tutoring in the Social Sciences & Humanities, reading and writing fundamentals, and SAT/ACT preparation.

  • I can provide support for History (all regions through AP), English (through AP Lit and AP Lang), Economics, US Government & Civics. I can also help with essay writing in all subjects, or to build fundamental reading and writing skills. We’re working on partnering with a Math mentor.

  • You can visit student outcomes to see a comprehensive list of schools into which my clients have gained admission. But I judge success not on the brand name of the school, but whether the student is successful and happy with their choice.

  • ** Due to COVID-19, the majority of my sessions are done through Zoom.**

Normally, for in-person mentorship, I currently serve San Jose and the cities within a 15mi radius: Palo Alto, Los Altos, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Cupertino, Saratoga, Campbell, Los Gatos, and Morgan Hill. I now also serve students from Fremont and Newark. For San Ramon and Redwood City, I work remotely via Zoom.

  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I currently operate through Zoom or FaceTime calls. We can also meet in person at places with outdoor seating and wifi.

  • I offer a range of class lengths to accommodate different students and needs. You can sign up for 1-hour, 90-minute, or 2-hour sessions.

Currently, I recommend 1 hour sessions for most students, but sometimes 2-hour sessions will be beneficial for college essay classes.

  • I try to make sure that my services are priced reasonably so that all families can afford to get advice and support. In order to further this mission, I occasionally update my pricing. Once you’re locked into a package, however, the price will not change. Sign up for a consultation or contact me for current packages and services.

  • I currently accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express, or PayPal.

  • Yes! I still have space available to take on new clients in all grade levels for the current academic season. Click here to sign up for a consultation today!
